استخدام هذه العوامل هو بطلان في المرضى الذين يعانون من وذمة وعائية وراثية أو تاريخ مجهول السبب وذمة وعائية. المرضى الذين لديهم تاريخ من وذمة وعائية لا علاقة لها مثبطات أجاد قد تكون في خطر متزايد من وذمة وعائية في حين تلقي مثبطات أجاد. وينبغي نصح المرضى بالإبلاغ فورا عن أي علامات أو أعراض توحي وذمة وعائية (تورم الوجه والأطراف والعيون والشفاه أو اللسان أو صعوبة في البلع أو التنفس) و إلى التوقف عن أخذ الدواء حتى موجها خلاف ذلك من قبل الطبيب. بالعلاج في حالات الطوارئ و/أو تدابير لمنع انسداد مجرى الهواء المطلوبة وذمة وعائية التي تنطوي على لسان المزمار أو الحنجرة. العلاج مثبطات أجاد يجب التوقف بشكل دائم إذا وذمة وعائية يطور بالتعاون مع جمعية العلاج.
