ذهان وكلاء قد يعجل أعراض خلل الحركة المتأخر (TD), متلازمة تتكون من الإيقاعي حركات لا إرادية مختلفة تنطوي على اللسان ، الوجه والفم والشفتين والفك و/أو الجذع والأطراف ، بعد الاستخدام المزمن على الأقل عدة أشهر ولكن في كثير من الأحيان سنوات. المرضى كبار السن وخاصة النساء هم الأكثر عرضة للإصابة. كل من خطر الإصابة متلازمة احتمال أن تصبح لا رجعة فيه مع زيادة مدة المجموع التراكمي جرعة من ذهان العلاج التي يديرها. ومع ذلك فإن المرضى قد النادر أن تظهر الأعراض بعد وجيزة نسبيا فترات العلاج بجرعات منخفضة. إذا TD يحدث أثناء ذهان العلاج الفوري الانسحاب من العامل المخالف أو على الأقل خفض الجرعة ينبغي النظر فيها.
