استخدام حبوب منع الحمل هو بطلان في المرضى الذين يعانون من أورام الكبد. زيادة خطر حميدة الكبد أورام و سرطان الخلايا الكبدية ارتبط على المدى الطويل عن طريق الفم الاستروجين البروجستين استخدام وسائل منع الحمل على الأقل 4 سنوات و 8 سنوات, على التوالي. على الرغم من أن هذه الأورام نادرة لم يتم الإبلاغ عنها مع أنواع أخرى من هرمون الاستروجين أو البروجسترون العلاجات ، أي إعداد تحتوي على هرمون الاستروجين و/أو المركبات بروجستيرونيه المفعول ربما ينبغي تجنبها في المرضى الذين يعانون من الأورام الموجودة في الكبد. الكبد أورام وعائية و عقيدية تضخم الكبد وقد ذكرت مع عزل العلاج بالاستروجين.
